EXPO 216 was a novel concept in specialty museums: part gallery and part museum, with themed exhibits lasting 16 months each. The museum element included informative panels, media loops, and interactive exhibits. The gallery element displayed works by local and national artists. A fashion show with outfits by local designers highlighted each theme.

Expo 216 is a non-profit, specialty museum whose mission is to encourage conscious living through heightened awareness of social and environmental issues.
